The Advantages Of The Ethernet Over Copper

Ethernet cables are used to send data packets from one section of a network to another. The Ethernet over Copper cable has helped to achieve this goal at a faster speed. The Ethernet over cable is commonly abbreviated as EoC. This high speed has caused an increase in the demand for this cable in most business places.

The provision of more complex services has been on the increase due to the increase in demand for bandwidth. This bandwidth may, however, be inaccessible to a small group of companies, and this group consists of small and medium businesses, cellular operators and local authorities. EoC technology is a good remedy to these difficulties since it is fast and cheaper. This increases efficiency in running the business.

Most businesses that are unable to install these new features normally use the T1/E1 services which are very slow. They can reach the bandwidth requirements of most businesses. The fastest media that can be used for connection is the fiber optic cable, but it is very expensive. The Ethernet over Copper cables usually use the same old copper cables, but there are modifications that have been done to the cable to make them faster.

The speed usually varies between ten Mega bits per second to fifty mega bits per second. The speed that is delivered usually depends on the on the distance to the main frame. This process of linking the new gadget to the copper cable is called Ethernet over first mile, which is abbreviated as EFM.
